Delhi, Aug 27, 2013: YSRCP on Tuesday strongly appealed to the President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh to keep the state united if it is not possible to render equal justice to all regions while solving the Telangana issue.
The appeal was made to them by party honourary president Smt. Y.S. Vijayamma who led the party delegation to them and explained the seriousness of the agitation being witnessed in Seemandhra region over the unilateral decision of the Congress leadership to divide the state.
Smt. Vijayamma handed over letters to PM and President separately explaining the developments in the state in wake of the bifurcation decision. She sought their intervention to provide equal justice to both the regions.
In the letters submitted to them, YSRCP has said that the issues of resource and revenue sharing including water, power and natural resources, relocation of Government employees and the status of Hyderabad must be solved first and foremost before the process of bifurcation could go ahead.
The delegation told the two highest dignitaries of the country to keep the state united leaving it untouched if no equal justice is done to all regions white solving the T tangle. Smt. Vijayamma and others also appealed to the PM and President to stop the process of division of AP till consensus is arrived at between the people of two regions.
She later told reporters that the PM had assured them that the Centre would soon constitute a Ministers’ Committee over the issue. “Manmohan Singh has said that if YSR had been alive, the state would not have faced the present predicament,” she said.
