TDP ignoring BCs: Dharmana

Hyderabad,
Nov 10: Taking strong objection to TDP meting out a raw deal to BCs in the
recent Union Cabinet expansion, YSR Congress has said Chandrababu Naidu has
always been ignoring the weaker sections and has been pampering the elite
class.
“Sending
the name of Sujana Chowdhary for a berth in the union cabinet once again proves
that TDP always favours rich and elite over the weaker sections as the first
name it has proposed was that of P Ashok Gajapathi Raju. Once again BCs got a
raw deal and TDP seems to have changed the nomenclature of BCs to Business
Class,” Party leader Dharmana Krishna Das told reporters here on Monday.
There was
lot of hope among BCs that there would be a representation in the Union Cabinet
but their aspirations were shattered with the mercantile policy of Chandrababu
Naidu.
“Media
that is friendly to TDP itself has published stories in the past about Sujana
Chowdhary and his antics in entrepreneurship. He was described as a tax
defaulter and there were stories about the fraud he was involved in some import
deals and that he was the Chandrababu Naidu’s proxy in Delhi and at the Centre.
“If a man
with such dubious qualities gets a berth in the union cabinet, BCs are very
disappointed and unhappy with the choice of TDP,” he said.
Chandrababu
Naidu has always been pursuing the anti-BC policy which is clear with the two
nominations to the union cabinet. Of the 21 members sent to Rajya Sabha only
four or five are BCs. Even in allotting the winning seats to BCs during
assembly elections, TDP has lagged behind, he said.
It was
only during the term of YSR that BCs have immensely benefitted through his
welfare schemes and due representation at all forums. Now the BCs are looking
towards YSRCP as they are fed up with the policies of the TDP, he said.
