TDP Govt. policies pro-rich: Partha Sarathi

Hyderabad, The double standards of TDP government stand exposed once again as it has been citing financial crunch for welfare measures and ex-gratia but has sanctioned a whopping amount to clear subsidy arrears to industrialists with retrospective effect.
“The State government has sanctioned Rs 1,500 crores to industrialists and entrepreneurs to clear the subsidy arrears with retrospective effect and when it comes to input subsidy to Cyclone affected farmers it has made it clear that it is not responsible for the disasters that occurred during 2013 and before,” Party spokesperson K Partha Sarathi told reporters here on Wednesday.
While it has said that the loan waiver would be cleared in a staggered manner and has been giving flimsy reasons to avoid the poll promises, the State has released Rs 1,500 crores in one go to clear the arrears of subsidy to industrialists.
This shows that TDP government is interested in promoting the commercial interests of the business class and neglects the farmers, women, students and other sections, who took the bait of Chandrababu Naidu’s false promises during elections, he said.
“There are also allegations that the treasury benches have received kickbacks and some of them are the direct beneficiaries of the release of Rs 1,500 crore subsidy arrears. While deferment of payment became the yardstick for completing the projects and keeping up poll promises, it has been payment of arrears in one stroke to industrialists. This shows the double standards of TDP government,” he said.
The release of funds to Pattiseema also has a similar bearing as the funds were released on a war footing only to benefit the contractors. The design and making of the motors for the lift irrigation itself takes place one year while the Chief Minister is fooling people by announcing bonus for completing the work in one year.
This is again to benefit the contractors. The amount released can be utilized for completing the left-over works of Pulichinthanala and other reservoir works for creating storage capacity. The irrigation minister should state on record that he would quit if the project is completed within one year, he said.
