Sonia, Kiran, Naidu should go: Jagan

Bhogapuram (Vizianagaram dist), Feb 10, 2014:
Affirming that the political canvas has changed to the worse after the death of
YSR, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has said the trio Sonia Gandhi, Kiran Kumar Reddy and
N Chandrababu Naidu should go to bring in a clean political system that can
think in terms of people’s welfare and shun divisive politics.

Addressing a public meeting here on
Sunday, he said, the ensuing elections are being held in the backdrop of
farmers and students being deprived of water and jobs in the state capital and
the resentment should rise like a tempest and wash away the divisive forces
giving a decisive mandate to YSRCP that has been firm for a united state.

“We shall win 30 MP seats in the battle
between Delhi arrogance and Telugu self-pride and see who could dare divide the
state. We will vote for a Prime Minister who would keep the state united.
Kiran Kumar Reddy who has been threatening to quit, was very subservient to Sonia
Gandhi and helped her in every possible way from the day the decision of
division was taken in the CWC some eight months back. Had he resigned that time
his sincerity would have had some credence and the situation would not have
come to such a pass.

Chandrababu Naidu on the other hand
encourages his party members to speak as per their regional aspirations. He
lacks leadership qualities as the President of any Party must be in a position
to seek votes going to any region. These three persons are responsible for
turmoil and whipping up of regional passions in the state and they should go,
“he said.

The political system has to change as people
in power are thinking in terms of political advantage and sending adversaries
to jail instead of showing concern to people’s welfare.

Describing the nine-year TDP term under
Chandrababu Naidu as a dark age in the state politics, he said, YSR’s padayatra
had turned a new leaf in the state politics. The TDP term has driven farmers to
suicides and charged exorbitant rate of interests to loans given to women
groups. Naidu ran the government like a corporate house and passed very snide
remarks when the talk of welfare and sops to farmers came up.

YSR, who led the Party to a thumping victory
in 2004, has shown how a welfare state should be and has launched Aargyasri to
provide quality medicare and the 108 ambulance would ferry the poor to
corporate hospitals for free treatment. He introduced fees reimbursement with a
view that at least one person in a house will get technical education free of
cost to take care of the family. He has increased the old age pension manifold
and provided pavala vaddi loans to women groups.

These and many other such deeds made him live
in the hearts of the poor even four years after his death. Rejecting the
divisive forces will bring his gold era back, he said.
