Probe YSR Statue Issue
24 Aug 2016 6:18 PM

Hyderabad, Aug 24: Telangana YSR Congress has condemned the inhuman act of removing YSR statue from Parakal and demanded an inquiry into the incident and bring the culprits to book. Speaking to media here on Wednesday party leader Konda Raghava Reddy said: ‘The incident is highly condemnable People of Parakal are the greatest beneficiaries of YSR schemes and the incident took place at the behest of TDP leader Ch Dharma Reddy who defected to TRS.
There is CC TV footage which clearly shows that the incident took place in the early hours where people in masks have removed the statue and took it
away in a tractor. The municipal commissioner’s report that the statue was lying there is not correct and we demand that an inquiry should be ordered into the uprooting of bronze statue.
The crime was recorded by the CCTV of a private finance company and based on it the culprits should be punished, he said and the matter should not be put to rest on the grounds that the municipal CC TV cameras are not working,’ he said.
YSR has taken up many development activities in Parakal and it is the responsibility of the government to take up the issue seriously. The agreement with Maharashtra government on water sharing is not a new one and there is nothing to celebrate about it, he said and termed as unfortunate the incident at Secretariat. The two Chief Ministers should sit together and sort out the matter, he said.
