- YS Jagan inaugurates ‘Stop
Ragging’ poster - Suggestion to widely
publicize prohibition of ragging
Hyderabad: The leader
of opposition and YSRCP president YS Jagan mentioned that there should be no
more students like engineering student Rishiteswari of Nagarjuna University who
ended her life due to ragging. He unfolded the poster that said ‘Stop Ragging’
created by YSRCP state students’ wing at the party’s central office.
YS Jagan suggested the
leaders of the party’s student wing to extensively campaign against ragging.
YSRCP’s student wing president Salam Babu, general secretary Rakesh Reddy,
secretary Kandula Dinesh Reddy, Sai Pratap Reddy, Nadeep Reddy, Diwakar,
Yashwanth, Ganesh and Sankar Reddy participated in the event among others.
Rishiteswari, a
student of architecture joined the university with hopes and aspirations about
her future, but later committed suicide due to ragging by certain mischievous
students. The Government that is supposed to punish the criminals responsible
for her sad demise is instead protecting them from the law. This is a sheer
insult to the moral society. The poor girl’s life came to an abrupt end, but
the criminals responsible are happily roaming around. Everybody is at disgust
with the Government for this reason.
