Chandrababu should take up Sec. 8 with Prez: Botsa

Hyderabad, July 1: YSR Congress has demanded the TDP to clarify its apprehensions on Section 8 of State Reorganisation Act 2014 in presence of the President Pranab Mukherjee and Governor ESL Narasimhan.
“Chandrababu Naidu and his cabinet colleagues have been raising a hue and cry over the implementation of Section 8, more so after the cash for vote scam has come to light and the Chief Minister should make best use of the time as the Implementing authority and his appointing authority are in city,” party senior leader Botsa Satyanarayana told reporters here on Wednesday.
The issue of Section 8 popped up after the TDP MLA was caught by ACB while trying to bribe an MLA and TDP has gone on the offensive ever since and called the Governor names. Though Chandrababu Naidu was allotted an additional 30 minutes time on Tuesday with the President Pranab Mukherjee, in lieu of the absence of his Telangana counterpart, there seems to be no mention of the controversy they have raised on the implementation of the issue.
“Our stand on Section 8 has been clear that it should be implemented along with all other provisions of the State Reorganistaion Act. But it was Chandrababu Naidu and his cabinet colleagues who raised the controversy and had cast aspersions on the institution of Governor. Since President is the appointing authority of Governors it would wise on part of TDP President to clear the air on the subject and make a statement on what was the response he got,” he said.
The clarification becomes necessary as the issue was raised in the Parliament by a member from the Telangana in June last in a special mention about the law and order.
It was then said that the Telangana government has sent a letter about the law and order situation in the city and TDP-BJP combine was satisfied with the reply.
It became a major issue after the scam broke out and we demand that Chandrababu Naidu should broach the issue with President in the presence of Governor, extract a reply and issue statement,” he said.
“Our Party expresses its dissent for maintaining the same scale of finance for the agriculture year though the Telangana government has increased it. This shows that Chandrababu Naidu is anti-farmer,” he said.
