Tadepalli, July 23: YSRCP has strongly condemned a vernacular daily for publishing baseless and malicious reports aimed at tarnishing the party’s reputation.
Addressing media at the YSRCP central office, legal cell president M. Manohar Reddy exposed Eenadu’s fabricated narrative claiming that 3.58 lakh GB of data related to an alleged liquor scam was deleted from the Andhra Pradesh Beverages Corporation Limited (APBCL) servers during the YSRCP government’s tenure (2019–2024).
Manohar presented irrefutable evidence, including a response from APBCL under the Right to Information (RTI) Act, confirming that no such data deletion occurred, thereby debunking Eenadu’s claims as outright falsehoods.
He asserted, “Eenadu’s agenda is to defame the YSRCP with concocted stories. Their report alleging the deletion of 371 crore pages of data is a malicious fabrication, and APBCL has categorically clarified that no data was deleted. This is a shameful attempt to mislead the public and discredit our leadership.” He further criticized Eenadu and its affiliate, ETV, for broadcasting an eight-minute segment based on this false narrative, stooping to unethical journalism to serve political interests.
Demanding immediate accountability, Manohar stated, “Eenadu’s management must issue an unconditional apology to the YSRCP for this disgraceful campaign. If they fail to do so, we will lodge a formal complaint with the Press Council of India, exposing their conspiracies with comprehensive evidence.” He emphasized that Eenadu’s actions reflect a broader pattern of targeting YSRCP leaders, particularly Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, with baseless allegations to undermine their public support.
He also highlighted a systematic strategy by certain media outlets and political adversaries to malign the YSRCP. “Unable to confront former CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s immense public support politically, they resort to character assassination through yellow journalism. False stories are planted, followed by orchestrated complaints, arrests, and coerced statements to frame innocent leaders in fabricated cases,” he explained. This, he noted, is part of a calculated effort to harass and intimidate YSRCP leaders and supporters.
