YSRCP slams coalition’s Rs.14 lakh crore debt lie

State spokesperson Putta Sivashankar Reddy
Tadepalli, March 7: YSRCP has exposed what it described a calculated conspiracy by the ruling coalition leaders CM Chandrababu Naidu, Dy CM Pawan Kalyan, Nara Lokesh, and BJP state president Daggubati Purandeswari to defame the previous YSRCP government with exaggerated debt claims. State spokesperson Putta Sivashankar Reddy stated that the coalition’s assertion of a Rs.14 lakh crore debt was exposed as a lie when their own Assembly response, approved by Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav, confirmed the total debt under Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s 2019-2024 tenure as Rs. 5,63,376 crore as of December 2024.
This includes Rs. 4,91,734 crore in state loans and Rs. 1,54,791 crore from PSUs, with YS Jagan’s term adding Rs. 3,70,898 crore after subtracting Rs. 3,06,651 crore from Chandrababu’s 2014-2019 TDP rule.
Sivashankar called the Rs. 14 lakh crore claim deliberate misinformation to mislead voters, demanding a public apology from the coalition leaders to the people and Jagan. He highlighted that YSRCP MLAs forced the truth out in the Assembly, debunking the coalition’s Sri Lanka comparison. Despite COVID-19 and welfare schemes like Navaratnalu, Jagan maintained fiscal discipline, while the coalition hid Chandrababu’s earlier borrowings. Sivashankar insisted the leaders retract their claims and face public accountability, asserting that YSRCP’s governance balanced welfare and stability, a fact now clear to all.
