Tadepalli, 17 October: YSRCP Legal Cell State President Malasani Manohar Reddy strongly condemned the false and politically motivated criminal case filed against YSRCP Duggirala ZPTC Mekathoti Aruna’s husband, Dasari Veeraiah. Addressing the media at the YSR Congress Party central office in Tadepalli, he said Veeraiah was illegally implicated in a murder case solely for opposing Minister Nara Lokesh and actively participating in the movement against spurious liquor.
He said the police fabricated statements, created false witnesses, and framed Veeraiah in an honour-killing case that has no connection to him whatsoever.
This conspiracy, he said, was orchestrated by TDP leadership to silence opposition voices in the Mangalagiri constituency. Veeraiah was arrested at midnight and produced before court without any evidence, based only on a scripted witness statement prepared by the police themselves.
Manohar Reddy reminded that earlier, former Minister Seediri Appalaraju, his wife, and 13 YSRCP leaders were also booked under attempt-to-murder (Section 307) simply for protesting against illegal liquor trade. He said such false cases, illegal arrests, and repeated police harassment have become routine across the state under the coalition regime.
He condemned the filing of 17 illegal cases against Sakshi Media for exposing the fake liquor mafia. He said forcing journalists to reveal sources, summoning editors for intimidation, and blocking Sakshi telecasts are direct attacks on media freedom and the Constitution. The coalition government is suppressing truth to divert public attention from its failures and broken Super Six promises.
He warned that the police machinery, acting as a political weapon of the coalition, will be held accountable for unlawful actions. “Those violating the Constitution and misusing law enforcement for political revenge will face consequences in the court of law,” he asserted.
