TDP insulting women 

Visakhapatnam, OCT 16: YSRCP Women’s Wing President and MLC Varadu Kalyani stated that TDP leaders have made it a habit to insult and humiliate women, proving once again that the Telugu Desam Party has turned into a Telugu Durahankara Party. She condemned TDP MLA Thomas for making cheap and degrading remarks against GD Nellore YSRCP Convenor Krupalakshmi. She said TDP leaders are behaving arrogantly with the confidence that Chandrababu Naidu will never question them even if they insult women. She questioned how these TDP leaders would feel if someone spoke the same way about the women in their own families. She said Krupalakshmi was targeted and subjected to character assassination without even considering that she is a Dalit woman. Varadu Kalyani said the YSRCP strongly condemns this behaviour and demanded that MLA Thomas immediately tender an apology to Krupalakshmi. She added that when Krupalakshmi spoke the truth, TDP leaders resorted to personal attacks.

Kalyani also said that during Chandrababu Naidu’s rule, TDP leaders behaved like Kalakeyas. She recalled how Srikalahasti MLA Bojjala Sudheer Reddy got private videos of a Jana Sena woman leader secretly recorded by luring her driver with money, as revealed by Kota Vinutha. She said those who committed such wrongdoings were never questioned, but the police machinery is being misused selectively. She added that while the police are not being used against criminals, they are being misused to detain people like the mother of Sugali Preeti.

She said Pawan Kalyan used the Sugali Preeti case to gain votes in the elections and reminded that he promised a CBI probe into the case before the elections but failed to do so after coming to power. She questioned whether Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan do not have the responsibility of delivering justice in the Sugali Preeti case, in which evidence was tampered with. She also stated that even when TDP goons attacked ZP Chairperson Uppala Harika, the police did not respond despite a case being filed. She said that no matter how many attacks are taking place against women in the state, the government is not taking the issue seriously and questioned why it is not taking action against those who commit offences against women
