*Order independent probe into constable recruitment: YSRCP Students' wing*

Tadepalli, September 13: YSRCP Students’ Wing State President Panuganti Chaitanya and Working President A. Ravichandra challenged the coalition government to order an independent investigation, including a CBI probe, into the police constable recruitment process and release the complete selection data in the public domain.
Addressing the media at the YSRCP central office, they questioned how 79 backlog posts were added after the original notification for 6,100 constable posts was revised in July 2025. If 79 posts were added, the total should be 6,179, they said, asking why the government continues to state that only 6,100 posts were filled and demanding details of the rules, categories and beneficiaries under which the backlog posts were accommodated.
They also questioned why the sports quota was increased from 2% to 3% and the number of recognised sports expanded from 20 to 67. The government must disclose the sport represented by each selected candidate, certificates submitted, verifying authority, merit marks, applicable cut-off and the exact basis of selection. While the final list contains only names and registration numbers, details relating to reservation category, merit, sports quota, NCC and other preferences remain undisclosed.
They said that during the YSRCP government, SI recruitment details including reservation, merit, category and certificates were placed in the public domain. They sought clarification over reported cut-off differences in Guntur Rural, where general-category marks were 138 against 88 under sports quota, and Nellore, where the corresponding figures were 138 and 98.
Chaitanya and Ravichandra also demanded an explanation for the last-minute cancellation of the passing-out parade of trained candidates. They called upon Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha and Minister Nara Lokesh to respond immediately.
“If the government has nothing to hide, it should order an independent probe and make every selection detail public. Is it ready for a CBI inquiry?” they asked, warning that the students’ wing would intensify its agitation across the State until justice is ensured.
