KIA Motors Plant At AP Was Dr YSR’s Brainchild

Amaravati: Speaking at the Andhra Pradesh Budget sessions on Monday, Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy said Kia Motors was established only with intervention and request of the late Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy.

 He informed the assembly members that the Kia Motors management had written a letter to Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy about the same. It was stated in the letter that the CEO of Kia Motors had friendly ties with the late Dr YSR and that upon his request in the year 2007, the CEO was asked to invest in the automobile sector in the erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh.
