Jogi Ramesh arrest, a political diversion to hide govt failures: Anil Kumar Yadav

Nellore, November 2: YSRCP PAC Member and former Minister P. Anil Kumar Yadav strongly condemned the illegal arrest of former Minister Jogi Ramesh, calling it a desperate diversion tactic by the ruling coalition government to escape accountability for its failures and growing public anger.
Speaking to the media at the camp office of late Minister Mekapati Goutham Reddy on his birth anniversary, Anil Kumar Yadav accused the government of using arrests to shift focus from critical issues. He said, “Whenever this government faces backlash for its failures, it immediately resorts to political vendetta and diversion drama. The arrest of Jogi Ramesh is nothing but an attempt to shift attention from the Kasibugga stampede tragedy.”
He questioned the government’s priorities, stating that farmers devastated by cyclone losses have been abandoned, while the government is busy targeting YSRCP leaders. “While farmers are suffering due to cyclone damage, the government has failed to support them. Instead of addressing the crisis, it is arresting Opposition leaders to suppress criticism,” he said.
Calling out the hypocrisy in the spurious liquor case, Anil Kumar Yadav asserted that the real accused are TDP leaders, including individuals who contested on TDP ticket. “All the main accused in the fake liquor case are from TDP. Yet none of them have been arrested. Instead, a fabricated statement is being used to arrest an innocent leader. This is pure political revenge,” he charged.
He reminded that Jogi Ramesh himself demanded a CBI inquiry into the liquor case, challenging the government to prove his involvement. “If this government has honesty, let it order a CBI probe. Truth will come out. But instead, they are indulging in selective arrests to hide their failures,” he stated.
Drawing comparisons of institutional bias, he questioned why cases were not filed against TTD Chairman after deaths in Tirumala or against authorities after Simhachalam incidents, while a temple trustee was targeted in Kasibugga. “Is there one law for influential people and another for common citizens?” he asked.
Accusing the government of fear and insecurity over YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s rising public support, he said, “People regret not electing Jagan. They realised they were deceived by Chandrababu’s false promises. To divert this growing public sentiment, the government is filing illegal cases and making arrests.”
He warned the government that the people of Andhra Pradesh see through its actions. “The public will soon unite and teach this government a lesson for its injustices. These vengeful tactics will not work. You will be held accountable,” he cautioned.
