Andhra Pradesh Chief minister and Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) President, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy ordered the authorities concerned to provide safe and purified drinking water to all the people across AP. He asked the Officials to implement water grid scheme in three different phases. The Chief Minister held a review meeting with Minister of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Peddireddi Ramachandra Reddy and higher officials on Friday to discuss over the drinking water supply and water grid scheme and Its Implementation. He further spoke to Officers about Water Grid Scheme works and Drinking water in Srikakulam, Godavari and Prakasam Districts in the first phase, Vizianagaram, Visakha and Rayalaseema districts in the second phase and Krishna, Guntur, and Nellore Districts in the Third Phase.
He asked officers to even concentrate on ponds and lakes. The state government board has decided to provide purified water for public distribution using a water treatment plant. Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy advised the authorities to study the matter and finalize the plan. YS Jagan also asked the officers to focus on the current situation of drinking water ponds and summer storage tanks and take adequate measures to avoid pollution in them. YS Jagan directed the supply of drinking water directly from the water treatment plant to the affected areas.
