Visakhapatnam/Tadepalligudem, April 30: The tragic death of seven devotees at Simhachalam’s Chandanotsavam exposes the coalition government’s corruption and negligence. YSRCP has condemned the disaster which shattered families and defiled a sacred space.
Former Ministers Gudivada Amarnath and Kottu Satyanarayana demand accountability, justice, and reforms to protect devotees.
A shoddily built wall, erected days before without safety standards, collapsed under tents, killing seven, including four from one family. “The government’s negligence in substandard construction caused this tragedy,” said Amarnath, after visiting victims at KGH. “Uncurated fly-ash bricks and reckless tent supports failed in predictable rain.” Kottu Satyanarayana added,
“The coalition’s corrupt tender practices, favouring unqualified allies, led to this disaster. No officials were present, leaving volunteers alone to respond, which shows their abandonment of duty.”
The coalition’s assault on Hindu dharma is exemplified in the demolition of 40 temples during Krishna Pushkaralu and neglect sacred tortoises at Srikurmam, and over 100 cows dying at Tirupati’s goshalas. In contrast, YSRCP modernized Srisailam, invested Rs. 225 crore in Durgamma temple, and conducted Mahakumbhabhishekam across 49 temples. “We ensured temples thrived with reverence,” Kottu said.
Yet, Naidu’s false laddu claims and Pawan Kalyan’s hollow apologies for Tirupati’s deadly stampede show their disregard. “This government plays with devotees’ lives,” Kottu declared.
YSRCP demands Rs. 1 crore compensation per deceased, jobs for victims’ families, and a probe into the coalition’s corruption. “We urge the public and media to demand justice and reforms. Andhra Pradesh deserves a government that honours faith and protects lives, not one that sacrifices both”, Kottu reiterated.
