Tadepalli, 02 December: YSRCP Krishna District President and former Minister Perni Venkataramaiah (Nani) strongly condemned Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s “unethical political trading”, orchestrating the most disgraceful episode in the state’s political history. Addressing the media at the party central office, Perni Nani said Chandrababu is openly luring YSRCP MLCs with money, forcing resignations, and purchasing positions—an operation that undermines democracy at its core. He said Ambedkar could never have imagined that politics would one day witness leaders so devoid of constitutional values and basic integrity.
Nani said that instead of opposing defections and seeking disqualification as is customary in democracy, Chandrababu has turned the system on its head by engineering resignations through bribes and coercion. He added that “bribing elected representatives has always been Chandrababu’s hallmark—from toppling NTR in the past to buying legislators today,” calling the ongoing resignations a part of Naidu’s unethical political game.
He accused Chandrababu of gross misuse of power after returning to office, threatening officials and getting the very cases, earlier filed by departments based on evidence of corruption during his previous tenure, illegally withdrawn. Nani reminded that Naidu had argued in courts with expensive lawyers claiming the cases were illegal, and when that failed, secured bail on health grounds using a private hospital certificate. “Yet after returning home with a grand rally, he never visited a hospital again. People should see through this fraud,” he said.
Nani stated that the coalition government was formed only to erase cases against Chandrababu and his associates, while filing fabricated cases against political opponents. He warned that forging documents, intimidating officers, and manipulating institutions to obtain clean chits would not save Naidu in the long run, “he will have to stand before the law again.”
Questioning Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan’s recent remarks that coconut trees in Konaseema were dying due to “Telangana’s evil eye”, Nani asked whether Pawan made that claim as a Deputy CM or as a sorcerer. A responsible government should call experts from Kerala, diagnose the disease, and save the trees and farmers, not peddle superstition, he said.
He also questioned Minister Nara Lokesh’s claim that he spends no public money on his flights. “Who is paying for the luxury flights and helicopters every week? His benamis? Those who got Vizag land for 99 paise? Or the companies like Ursa and Birsa? A single charter trip from Hyderabad to Vijayawada costs Rs. 10 lakh, who is footing these bills?” Nani asked. He also reminded that when he filed an RTI asking whether Chandrababu drew salary despite boycotting the Assembly after taking a ‘Mangamma oath’, no reply was given.
Responding to Telangana Minister Komatireddy’s remarks on Pawan Kalyan’s films, Nani said Pawan’s movies have repeatedly failed, leaving buyers bankrupt and even defaulting on GST payments, yet no official questions them.
On Amaravati, Nani said Chandrababu himself is killing the capital city after accusing YSRCP for five years. Every major company is being diverted to Visakhapatnam, leaving Amaravati with just offices, the Assembly, the High Court, and the CM’s residence. Farmers are deeply distressed, asking who will buy their plots if all development goes to Vizag. With 1,000–1,500-job companies shifting out, Amaravati risks becoming a barren administrative island, he said.
Nani concluded that Chandrababu Naidu is destroying Amaravati, subverting democracy through cash-for-MLCs, abusing power to quash cases, and running a government built on coercion, superstition, and secrecy. Only the public can ultimately hold him accountable.
