Tadepalli, Jan 6: YSRCP has slammed the coalition government for its neglect of Rayalaseema and criticized the State Irrigation Minister Nimmala Rama Naidu for his remarks against the Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation (RLI) project.
Speaking to media here on Tuesday, Party General Secretary Gadikota Srikanth Reddy said the Irrigation Minister stating that there is no need for RLI shows the lack of sincerity of the coalition and he has no right to continue in the cabinet.
It was only during the terms of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and Dr YS Rajasekhar Reddy justice was done to Rayalaseema and Chandrababu always! remained as a betrayer of the region by either stalling the existing ones or not completing the others.
Chandrababu has been telling lies that the case was pending with NGT while he had allowed Telangana and other upper states to build and upgrade their dams at the cost of water to Rayalaseema.
YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has strived for Pothireddypadi as it is only channel to provide water to Rayalaseema besides Nellore, Prakasam and Chennai as well.
Chandrababu has stopped it midway and the statement in Telangana Assembly that the RLI project was stopped after convincing Chandrababu Naidu shows the clear intention and how he has been cheating the people of the region.
State irrigation minister Rama Naidu’s irresponsible statement on the project shows that they have no love lost to the region and the project is shelved for personal and political reasons. Ever since, Chandrababu Naidu was involved in the cash for vote case and ran away from Hyderabad, he has compromised on various issues including paving way for Telangana to construct reservoirs and dams at their will to draw water from Srisailam at will.
During his earlier term, Chandrababu allowed Karnataka to raise the height of Almatti and build Narayanpur dams restricting the flow of water into Srisailam and level is always below the mark that allows water to lower riparian state of Andhra Pradesh, he said.
