Chittoor: As he is winding his way through the dusty lanes and bylanes in Chittoor district as part of his mammoth Praja Sankalpa Yatra, YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is coming face to face with the woes of the common man. He is getting to know the problems of the poorest of the poor first hand.
On Wednesday, a woman called Shanthi came to YS Jagan. Her husband is a dailywager and his earnings are the only source of the family’s hand-to-mouth existence. The family lives in Tummalacheruvu Agraharam. Her two children – 10-year-old son and nine-year-old daughter are both speech and hearing impaired. They cannot speak or hear. Both have been admitted to a school for the deaf and dumb and are there for the last six years. The doctors, who examined them, suggested that a surgery could make them hear and speak. However, she being poor, cannot afford the cost of the surgery. So, she sought YS Jagan’s help in giving a new lease of life to her children.
A visibly moved YS Jagan asked his aide to ensure that the children are medically examined and see if a surgery can make them hear and speak. YS Jagan is getting to meet countless such hapless people in need of help. But, most of them are ignored by the Government.
