*YSRCP raises deteriorating law and order in AP in Parliament*
New Delhi, Feb 3: YSRCP has reiterated in Parliament that law and order is deteriorating in Andhra Pradesh and sought Central intervention.
Speaking in the motion of thanks to the President’s address, YSRCP MP Golla Babu Rao told the upper house that the law and order situation in the State has gone from bad to worse. He told the Chair that the Prime Minister and Home Minister should intervene as lawlessness is prevailing in the State, with unabated attacks on political opponents, destruction of their houses, and arson.
He also asked for enhancement of funds for Polavaram, which is the lifeline of the State. The allocation of Rs 3,320 crore is meagre and should be increased, and the height of the project should also be fixed at 45 metres. The mood of the people was vented in the form of one crore signatures against the privatization of medical colleges.
YS Jagan Mohan Reddy took the initiative for setting up 17 medical colleges in the State, but the coalition government is giving them away to private parties, he said. The Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) issue is still raging, and there are no captive mines allocated, while the private sector is getting captive mines.
