New Delhi, Dec 15: YSR Congress Party Members of Parliament staged a protest at Makar Dwar in Delhi, holding placards and strongly opposing the Andhra Pradesh government’s move to privatize government medical colleges. The protest was led by YSRCP Parliamentary Party Leader Y.V. Subba Reddy, along with MPs Mithun Reddy, Gurumurthy, Avinash Reddy, Tanuja Rani and Ayodhya Rami Reddy. Addressing the media, Y.V. Subba Reddy demanded that the privatization of government medical colleges in the state be immediately stopped, stating that such a move would severely harm public healthcare and deny affordable medical education to ordinary families. He said the YSRCP MPs had met the Union Finance Minister to formally register their opposition to the privatization decision. He further stated that more than one crore people across Andhra Pradesh have already signed against the move and that, under the leadership of former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the party would soon meet the Governor and submit one crore signatures demanding the rollback of privatization. Y.V. Subba Reddy asserted that the YSR Congress Party would continue its agitation relentlessly until the government withdraws the decision to privatize government medical colleges.
