*YSRCP demands action against CI for misconduct*
Machilipatnam, April 3: YSR Congress Party leaders have strongly criticized the conduct of police officials in Machilipatnam, alleging that some officers are acting in favor of the ruling party and harassing the public. They made it clear that the party will continue to question corrupt practices and will not stop its fight for people’s rights despite illegal cases.
At a press conference held at the YSRCP office, Krishna district president Perni Venkatramaiah, along with former MLAs Kailae Anil Kumar and Simhadri Ramesh, and party coordinators from Penamaluru, Pedana, and Machilipatnam constituencies, demanded immediate suspension of the CI who allegedly used abusive language against YSRCP leader Perni Krishnamurthy (Kittu).
Leaders questioned how a police officer could behave like a political leader and make provocative and inappropriate remarks. They condemned the CI’s reported use of offensive language and said such behavior brings disrepute to the police system. They also accused the police of supporting illegal house demolitions without proper requisition letters and demanded that authorities make those documents public.
Perni Nani stated that even if false cases are filed or leaders are jailed, YSRCP will continue to stand with the people. He questioned the silence of police associations on such misconduct and alleged that postings are influenced by political recommendations.
Former MLA Anil Kumar said the law and order situation in the state is deteriorating, with opposition voices being suppressed. Simhadri Ramesh reiterated the demand for immediate suspension of the CI, while other leaders alleged a deliberate attempt to provoke YSRCP members.
The leaders warned that they will intensify their protest until action is taken.
