YS Jagan honours Dr. YSR on his birth anniversary
Idupulapaya/Tadepalli, July 8: Former Chief Minister and YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy led in paying heartfelt tributes to his father, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy, on his 76th birth anniversary at YSR Ghat in Idupulapaya, marked by special prayers.
Across Andhra Pradesh and beyond, YSRCP leaders and supporters honoured the legendary leader’s legacy through blood donation camps, clothing distribution to the poor, and annadanam (food distribution) programmes, reflecting his commitment to public welfare. At the YSRCP central office in Tadepalli, party leaders, including Parliamentary Party Leader YV Subba Reddy, Rajya Sabha MP Alla Ayodhya Rami Reddy, former ministers Velampalli Srinivas Rao and Jogi Ramesh, MLC Lella Appi Reddy, Vijayawada Mayor Rayana Bhagyalakshmi, and other activists, paid floral tributes to Dr. YSR’s statue and cut a ceremonial cake, celebrating his transformative contributions.
YV Subba Reddy hailed Dr. YSR as a leader unmatched in delivering welfare and development, stating, “No Chief Minister in India achieved fame as good as Dr. YSR. He treated welfare and development as two sides of the same coin, introducing free electricity for farmers, making AP the first state to implement Arogyasri, and enabling countless students to pursue higher education through fee reimbursement.” He emphasized that Dr. YSR’s vision lives on through YSRCP and YS Jagan, who has surpassed his father’s legacy by prioritizing education, healthcare, and farmer welfare, including establishing medical colleges for accessible healthcare. Subba Reddy criticized the current coalition government for vendetta politics and urged people to fight for YSRCP’s return to power to restore Dr. YSR’s vision.
Rajya Sabha MP Alla Ayodhya Rami Reddy described Dr. YSR as a towering figure who instilled confidence in people facing hardships, adding, “Leaders across states spoke highly of him, and YS Jagan has carried forward his ideals.” Former MLA Malladi Vishnu praised Dr. YSR for making agriculture a festival through free electricity and transformative welfare schemes, asserting, “No one dares dismantle YSR’s welfare legacy.” Former Minister Jogi Ramesh credited Dr. YSR with strengthening the Congress Party nationally through his historic padayatra, while noting that YS Jagan’s governance set a national benchmark. Former Minister Velampalli Srinivas Rao emphasized Dr. YSR’s indelible mark on the poor through Arogyasri, stating, “Only YSRCP’s return to power will ensure his ideals endure.”
Across districts, YSRCP leaders organized grand celebrations. In Visakhapatnam, MP Golla Babu Rao and others paid tributes at Dr. YSR’s statue on Beach Road. In Parvathipuram Manyam, former MLA Viswasarayi Kalavathi honored Dr. YSR’s statue at Kargil Junction. In Vizianagaram, former MLA Kadubandi Srinivas Rao led tributes at Devi Junction. In Krishna district, leaders like Uppala Ramu and Kaile Anil Kumar conducted rallies and floral tributes, while in Kakinada, constituency in-charge Vanga Geetha paid respects. In Hyderabad and even Hartford, Connecticut, USA, YSRCP supporters, led by Kadapa Ratnakar, celebrated Dr. YSR’s legacy, underscoring his global influence.
YSRCP Legal Cell President Manohar Reddy, at Tadepalli, reiterated Dr. YSR’s unparalleled welfare contributions, condemning the current government’s “Red Book Constitution” and attacks on dissenters. He urged supporters to work tirelessly to bring YSRCP back to power.
