TDP leaders turning into predators, women left defenceless
Tadepalli, August 19: YSRCP official spokesperson Aare Shyamala strongly condemned the increasing atrocities against women in Andhra Pradesh under the TDP-led coalition government, MLAs turning into predators and hooligans.
She questioned, “What promises were made to women before the elections, and what is happening today? Women are left with no protection while TDP MLAs themselves have become tormentors.” She pointed out that the coalition leaders, instead of upholding justice, have become the very perpetrators of harassment and injustice.
Highlighting a shocking incident, she said that Amudalavalasa MLA Kuna Ravi Kumar has been harassing KGBV Principal Soumya, keeping her confined in his office even during late hours and making midnight video calls. “What right do MLAs have to misuse their position and terrorize officials?” she asked. She further revealed that unable to withstand the harassment and arrogance of the Guntur East MLA Naseer, a woman named Sofia had even attempted suicide.
Shyamala lambasted the silence of Home Minister Anitha, questioning why she has not spoken on Soumya’s suicide attempt or the rising number of cases of women being victimized, including within her own constituency. She said, “During YS Jagan’s tenure, women had the protection of the Disha App. What benefit has the coalition’s so-called Shakti App delivered? Women employees and even IPS officers are facing humiliation under this regime.”
She criticised coalition government for ignoring complaints made to the police, shielding perpetrators. “Why are these atrocities invisible to the yellow media? Why is the government standing by the guilty instead of the victims?” she asked.
Exposing the government’s anti-Dalit mindset, Shyamala reminded how Dalit women are not being protected, and Dalits are openly insulted as “ganja addicts” by coalition leaders. She declared that the YSR Congress Party will continue to fight on behalf of women, Dalits, and victims of injustice, ensuring their voice is heard.
“Women, children, and even senior officials are unsafe under the coalition regime. The YSRCP will remain the only true support for women and oppressed communities in Andhra Pradesh,” Shyamala asserted.
