Guntur, Feb 5: YSR Congress Party leaders said the large public turnout during YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s visit reflects growing resistance to what they described as the coalition government’s undemocratic and politically motivated governance. MLC Lella Appi Reddy said many people came forward to support Jagan’s tour as a mark of protest against anti-democratic policies, stating that the government is functioning with the sole aim of controlling and targeting YSRCP leaders and cadres. He criticised the ruling alliance for politicising the Tirumala laddu prasadam issue and said the party continues to stand firmly with its workers while demanding that the government focus on fulfilling promises and addressing public issues.

Former Home Minister Sucharita thanked the “wave of people” who turned up for YS Jagan’s visit and said the government spread false claims about animal fat in Tirumala laddu and is now trying to cover up the matter after the SIT report found no such content. She said police acted as silent spectators during attacks and warned that the names of officials who harassed YSRCP workers with illegal cases would be recorded, adding that a full inquiry and action would follow when the party returned to power.

Guntur city president Noori Fatima said there is “destruction instead of welfare” under the present government and criticised police attempts to place leaders under house arrest during YS Jagan’s visit. She said the same policing should have been visible during the attack on Ambati Rambabu’s house and described law and order as a complete failure.

Former MLA Annabathuni Shivakumar said the state is witnessing “barbaric rule” and that the coalition came to power on false promises. Ponnur coordinator Ambati Muralikrishna condemned both the alleged misinformation campaign over laddu prasadam and the attack on Ambati Rambabu’s residence, thanking the massive crowds who attended Jagan’s visit and asserting that the public’s support remains firmly with him.

YSRCP leaders said the public response shows rising dissatisfaction and that people are closely watching the government’s actions.
