*Police constables neglected by coalition govt*
Tadepalli, June 8: YSRCP has flayed the coalition government for not paying dues to police constables and cheating them, along with all other sections of society.
Speaking to the media here on Monday, former minister Perni Venkatramaiah (Nani) said that constables were not being paid their surrender leave allowance and that the orderly system continues to haunt them.
Six surrender leaves remain unpaid to constables, and the Chandrababu government also owes them travelling allowance (TA) dues besides the surrender leave payments. The TA amount has mounted to Rs 72,000, yet it has not been disbursed. The orderly system still exists, and constables continue to work under humiliating conditions.
Chandrababu is promoting the sale of liquor on one hand and, on the other, has been fixing targets for every police station to book drunk-and-drive cases, putting the department under immense pressure. The promise of granting leave to APSP personnel has also not been fulfilled.
A handful of officials who want to remain in the good books of the government are dancing to the tune of their higher-ups and foisting false cases on political adversaries.
Home Minister Anita has no concern for police constables, while Pawan Kalyan does not bother about them, even though he claims to be the son of a police constable, he said.
The ministers are always busy monitoring other portfolios while ignoring their own departments, he added.
