Pawan Kalyan hands over Janasena to TDP, betrayed Sugali Preethi

Tadepalli, Aug 29: Speaking at the YSR Congress Party central office, YSRCP Guntur Parliamentary Observer Pothina Mahesh criticised Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan of reducing Janasena to a mere wing of the TDP and betraying both Sugali Preethi’s family and the people of Andhra Pradesh.
Mahesh said Pawan avoided even a basic discussion on public issues at the Vizag Janasena Legislature meeting, fearing it would anger Chandrababu Naidu. “People expected a coalition partner to put citizens first. Instead, the meeting was wound up without touching real problems,” he said, listing farmers’ distress and remunerative prices, urea shortages, Vizag Steel Plant privatisation, the Centre’s privatisation across 32 sectors, fee-reimbursement lapses, ‘Super Six’ implementation gaps, attacks on women and children, ganja and drugs, increased power tariffs, rampant liquor belt shops, sand and soil mafia, and corruption.
He charged that Janasena MLAs themselves were denied one-to-one time with Pawan, while TDP leaders dominate even in constituencies won by Janasena, cornering posts and controlling power. “Pawan has not allowed his MLAs to question this dominance; he has effectively sold Janasena to the TDP,” Mahesh said.
On Sugali Preethi, Mahesh reminded that the crime occurred in 2017 under Chandrababu’s regime, when the probe was influenced and evidence tampered. “Pawan weaponised the case from 2019–24 to malign YSRCP. Yet YS Jagan stood by the family with humanity, a government job for the father, 5 cents of house-site land at Kalluru, 5 acres of farmland at Dinnedevarapadu, and Rs. 8.25 lakh in financial aid, and ordered a CBI probe in 2020,” he said.
Mahesh said Pawan now claims credit for aid he never gave, peddles falsehoods like ‘DNA was changed’, and even talks of bringing a law to control social media, the same platform he used to spread misinformation. “If you truly want justice, apprehend the culprits and take credit for that. You are in power in the State and at the Centre. Who is stopping you?” he asked.
He added that Pawan’s pre-poll promise to support 500 youths per constituency with Rs. 10 lakh each has vanished without discussion. “Instead, he tells his cadre not to seek posts and speaks of carrying Chandrababu in a palanquin for the next 15 years, which means the cadre’s hard work only keeps Chandrababu or Lokesh in the CM’s chair,” Mahesh said.
Mahesh concluded, “Only YS Jagan delivered tangible justice to Sugali Preethi’s family. Pawan Kalyan failed to act as Deputy CM, failed to catch the culprits, and failed the people.”
