MP Maddila Gurumoorthy demands urgent action in Tirupati sexual harassment case

New Delhi, Dec 7: YSRCP MP from Tirupati Maddila Gurumoorthy wrote letters to Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, National Commission for Women, National Commission for Scheduled Castes, and National Human Rights Commission seeking immediate intervention in shocking sexual harassment blackmail case involving woman B.Ed student from National Sanskrit University Tirupati.

Gurumoorthy said student submitted written complaints accusing Assistant Professor Dr Laxman Kumar of sexually harassing, blackmailing and intimidating her using personal photographs and videos. She said continuous threats mental torture humiliation pushed her into severe trauma forcing discontinuation of studies.

He expressed strong concern stating clear misuse of authority unchecked power inside university campus. The MP appealed to the Education Ministry for strict oversight transparent independent time-bound investigation free from pressure influence. He demanded immediate suspension and arrest of the accused professor. 

Gurumoorthy informed letters sent to NCW NCSC Human Rights Commission requesting close monitoring ensuring survivor rights safety preventing institutional cover-up attempts. The MP stated YSRCP will move adjournment motion in Lok Sabha seeking justice for the victim demanding immediate accountability.
