Guntur, Feb 7: Senior YSRCP leaders strongly condemned the attack on former minister Ambati Rambabu’s residence, stating that the incident has triggered widespread anger among the Kapu community and reflects targeted political vendetta against leaders who question the government. After visiting Ambati Rambabu’s home in Guntur and consoling his family members along with his daughter Mounika, former minister Gudivada Amarnath and former MLA Karanam Dharmasri said the attack was a direct consequence of Ambati raising questions on government failures and the laddu ghee controversy. They said those who spread false claims about adulteration were exposed by SIT and lab reports, and instead of accepting facts, the government turned against political opponents. They stated that from the killing of Vangaveeti Ranga to the attack on Ambati Rambabu, Kapu leaders have repeatedly faced targeting, and the community is closely watching these repression.

The leaders condemned the violence at Ambati’s house and said those responsible carried out abuse, vandalism, and attempts to set the house on fire, yet Ambati now faces jail while the attackers roam free. They said this reflects a pattern where those who question the government are harassed with cases and intimidation. They expressed solidarity with Ambati’s family and said Kapu leaders across YSRCP stand united in support. They warned that political arrogance and diversion tactics will not last and that public anger is growing.

Karanam Dharmasri said Kapu leaders in YSRCP have resolved to collectively fight for repression and to support Ambati Rambabu. He criticized the use of Tirumala laddu for politics and said faith and devotees’ sentiments were dragged into political battles. He stated that once SIT reports disproved animal fat claims, the government lost credibility and resorted to targeting critics. He said Kapus across districts are expressing anger over continued suppression.

Gudivada Amarnath said Ambati was targeted for consistently questioning government failures over the past 20 months. He said false propaganda, flex campaigns, and political attacks followed the lab reports clearing the laddu issue. He added that Ambati even apologized where necessary, but attacks still continued, showing the intent was harassment, not justice. He said days do not remain the same forever and accountability will follow.

Ambati Rambabu’s daughter Mounika said the murder attempt on her father happened under political direction and with police presence. She stated that intimidation continues even after the incident, with threats issued to those expressing solidarity. She questioned the double standards of leaders who claim regret while issuing warnings. She said her father remained calm even when thousands surrounded the house and stones and weapons were used, because he believed institutions would deliver justice. She asked how attacks on homes and women can be justified in a democracy and said those in power must answer for law and order rather than remain silent.

YSRCP leaders reiterated that questioning the government is a democratic right and that political violence cannot silence opposition voices. They said the growing solidarity for Ambati Rambabu shows that people are closely watching and responding to these events.
