Kakinada, Jan 2: YSRCP has slammed the Chandrababu government for its failure on all fronts during the last 18 months and said the party, under the leadership of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, would continue to highlight the coalition’s failures and be the voice of the people.
Speaking to the media here on Friday, former minister K Kannababu said the previous period was laden with cheating of all sections of people, atrocities on political adversaries, aggressive borrowings, fudging of figures and leaders simply vanishing without giving details of their whereabouts.
Chandrababu and his publicity machinery went overboard when YS Jagan Mohan Reddy went to see his daughter in London, and now the father-son duo has gone missing, leaving governance and people in the lurch, he said.
While YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had taken Rs 3.32 lakh crore as loans during his five-year term, the coalition has taken over Rs 2.93 lakh crore in just 18 months. There is no accountability as election promises remain unfulfilled, while during the YSRCP term all welfare measures were carried out as per a calendar through DBT.
Chandrababu has been talking about a high growth rate, but it is not reflected in the purchasing power, and RBI and central agency figures spell out the dire straits in which the state economy is, he said.
While urea scarcity still persists, liquor has been flowing freely and employees are being cheated by not giving them their due, he said, adding that credit theft has been prevalent, with Chandrababu copying many governing practices like giving pensions to households and the like.
The Draksharamam incident shows the negligence of the government, he said, reiterating that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will continue to be the voice of the people and fight against the shoddy policies of the coalition government.
