*Botcha slams two years of Naidu’s Government*
Visakhapatnam, May 23: Launching a sharp attack on the Andhra Pradesh government, Legislative Council Opposition Leader Botcha Satyanarayana stated that even after completing two years in power, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has nothing meaningful to showcase before the people except publicity speeches and political diversion. Addressing the media in Visakhapatnam along with former minister Gudivada Amarnath, former MLA Karanam Dharmasri, and Visakha district party president KK Raju, Botcha said the government has failed every section of society and continues to survive only through media management and manipulation.
Botcha questioned whether even a single promise made during the elections had been fulfilled and accused Chandrababu of once again deceiving the people in the name of “Super Six.” He stated that promises such as Aadabidda Nidhi, unemployment allowance, and free gas cylinders for women remain completely unimplemented while prices of essential commodities continue to rise unchecked. “Calling Super Six a super hit is itself another deception,” he remarked, pointing out that there is a clear difference between promising to implement schemes and falsely claiming they are already successful.
Contrasting the present government with the previous YSRCP administration, Botcha stated that even during the COVID crisis, Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy ensured welfare support reached people without interruption, whereas the present government has created obstacles for fee reimbursement, healthcare assistance, and welfare schemes meant for the poor. He questioned why petrol and diesel prices promised to be reduced before elections have instead increased, and criticized the government for failing to intervene in agricultural markets despite farmers suffering due to lack of remunerative prices for crops.
Strongly criticizing Education Minister Nara Lokesh, Botcha accused him of speaking on every department except his own. He questioned the removal of DSC merit lists after reports emerged about irregularities involving top-ranked candidates and alleged misuse of sports certificates. He also criticized the government for failing to provide textbooks and student kits on time while claiming to prioritize education reforms. According to Botcha, transparency has completely collapsed under the current administration, citing controversies surrounding Vizag Geetham lands and Andhra University as examples of how influential individuals and political interests are allegedly being protected.
Botcha stated that the government has not implemented even a single flagship welfare or development initiative benefiting the poor or middle class during the last two years. He alleged that corruption has spread from the top leadership down to mandal-level offices, with ruling party leaders and officials jointly exploiting the system while the government remains obsessed with publicity. He criticized Chandrababu’s recent remarks encouraging families to have more children, questioning how ordinary people struggling with unemployment and inflation could support larger families. “Not everyone possesses the wealth and political advantages enjoyed by Chandrababu and his associates,” he remarked.
Targeting the Amaravati project, Botcha alleged that the government is spending public money recklessly while corruption and favoritism dominate every major decision. He pointed out that Amaravati construction costs have crossed ₹20,000 per square foot and stated that the growing corruption in the capital region is precisely why YS Jagan proposed the MAVIGAN capital corridor alternative. “If there is nothing wrong in Amaravati, why is the government uncomfortable with MAVIGAN?” he questioned. Botcha further accused the government of operating without transparency in every sector and referred to controversies surrounding DSC recruitment and alleged leaks as further evidence of administrative collapse.
Concluding the press meet, Botcha warned that YSRCP would continue to expose government failures, corruption, and policy failures at every level. He stated that the opposition would persistently question the government on behalf of the people and asserted that those responsible for corruption and exploitation would eventually be exposed before the public.
