*Bhumana slams attempts to silence questions on TTD corruption*
Tirupati, May 24: Former TTD Chairman and YSRCP State Spokesperson Bhumana Karunakar Reddy strongly alleged that political attacks are being orchestrated under the guise of saffron robes to intimidate those exposing corruption and irregularities in TTD. Addressing the media at his camp office in Tirupati, Bhumana criticised that certain individuals linked to the ruling TDP of disguising themselves as sanyasis and attempting to lay siege to his residence after he raised questions over the alleged sale of SRIVANI and break darshan tickets.
Bhumana stated that several TDP activists had abandoned yellow scarves and donned saffron robes to target him politically. He specifically named TDP NTR Literature Committee Chairman Atluri Narayana Rao, alleging that he led the attempted siege in the guise of a sanyasi. “They wear saffron outside, but behind it lies pure political aggression and corruption,” he remarked. He further alleged that individuals involved in black marketing SRIVANI tickets were now attacking him for exposing the alleged racket.
The former TTD Chairman asserted that his fight against TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu and the alleged corruption surrounding SRIVANI tickets, break darshan tickets, and AI-based manipulation of ticketing systems would continue without fear. He accused certain TV5-linked individuals and TTD insiders of creating chaos and facilitating corruption atop Tirumala hill. Bhumana also alleged illegal land encroachments connected to TV5 offices and questioned why self-proclaimed religious figures remained silent over major controversies under the coalition government, including the alleged presence of liquor bottles and non-vegetarian food on Tirumala hill, the Vaikuntha Ekadasi stampede deaths of six devotees, and the allotment of prime TTD land to private entities.
Bhumana clarified that he holds genuine Jagadgurus and Peethadhipathis in the highest respect and would always honour the words of revered spiritual leaders such as the Kanchi Swamiji, Kurthalam Peetham, and Ahobilam Mutt. However, he asserted that politically motivated “fake sanyasis” acting as agents of the ruling party would not be spared. He reiterated that the YSRCP government had strengthened the prestige and sanctity of TTD during its tenure and accused the present government of systematically damaging that legacy through corruption, negligence, and political interference.
