*Alarm bells for government employees* 

Nellore, April 23: YSRCP has expressed concern over the situation of government employees in Andhra Pradesh, alleging that the coalition government is creating fear and uncertainty instead of fulfilling its promises. Party MLC Parvathareddy Chandrasekhar Reddy said the government is resorting to indirect pressure tactics and misleading narratives.
Speaking to the media at the party office, he said that during the elections, the coalition had made several promises to employees, including pay revision, interim relief, and clearing pending dues, but has failed to implement any of them even after two years. He alleged that reports comparing Andhra Pradesh with Himachal Pradesh and hinting at possible salary cuts were being deliberately circulated to discourage employees from raising their demands.
He pointed out that during the tenure of Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, employees were given 27 percent interim relief in the first cabinet itself and salaries were paid on time even during the COVID period. He said that despite financial challenges, benefits like PRC and promotions were implemented.
He further stated that pending dues of employees have reportedly reached around Rs 35,000 crore and no steps have been taken to form a new Pay Revision Commission. He also raised concerns about rising state debt and questioned how funds are being utilized.
He alleged that employees are being discouraged from protesting and warned that the situation could worsen if corrective steps are not taken.
