Strengthen yourself, strengthen party: Vijayamma
Jogipet, June 25, 2013: Calling upon the party rank and file to strengthen themselves and strengthen the party, YSR Congress Party honourary president Smt. Y.S. Vijayamma on Tuesday asked the party leaders to face the forthcoming Panchayat polls in unison and bring victory to the party in the forthcoming polls.
“Let us work together keeping aside our misunderstandings, if any and strive to defeat the cunning and covert attempts of Congress and TDP which may unleash their money and liquor power in the local polls,” she said stressing on the need to have coordination among leaders at different stages.
Smt. Vijayamma was addressing the party regional meet on Panchayat polls at Jogipet in Medak district.
We must work for fulfilling the aspirations of YSR and achieving the aims of YSRCP Chief Sri Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, she said, and added that this process should begin with winning the local body polls.
She said the hamlets and villages have suffered heavily for the last two and half years due to the delay in conducting the local body polls. “The situation in villages would have been completely different if the elections to the 22 Zilla Parishads, 21, 534 Panchayats, 16,168 MPTCs, 182 municipalities, 19 corporations had been held in time and 2.5 lakh people’s representatives elected,” she said.
Reiterating that YSR always respected the Telangana sentiment, Smt. Vijayamma observed Sri Jagan Mohan Reddy too has highest regards for the people of Telangana.
Dwelling at length on the welfare schemes implemented by YSR, Smt. Vijayamma said the party is committed to implement the same in all sincerity after coming to power.
Lashing out at TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu, she said Naidu had written in his book ‘Manasuloni Maata’ that there was no need to allot funds to villages and asked the people not to believe his false promises.
Earlier, Smt. Vijayamma observed a 2-minute silence in memory of Telangana martyrs and paid rich tributes them.
