Special Status high on our agenda

 YSR Congress would raise the issue of Special Status to Andhra Pradesh besides other issues during the ensuing Parliament Winter session beginning from Tuesday. 

After the Parliamentary party met with Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Party floor leader in Lok Sabha, Mekapati Rajmohan Reddy told reporters here on Sunday that ‘special status is high on our agenda and we will take up the issue at every available forum and opportunity. 

Special Status was promised to the state in lieu of forgoing Hyderabad and this compensation cannot be equaled by any measure other than fulfilling the commitment,’ he said.

 Even when Prime Minister Narender Modi had come to the State, there was a faux pas on part of Chief Minister and he had exhibited the ambiguity over special status and special package.

 By any means special package is not a substitute to special status. There is a move to club all the assurances given during the division of the state and convert it into a special package which is unfair and we will fight it out. 

The second major issue on our agenda is the hike in MSP to farmers and demanding the Centre to give orders for the FCI to procure the paddy from farmers.

 The other assurances like creating a railway zone in Visakhapatnam were also not fulfilled.

 All assurances given during the division of the state should be fulfilled and we will raise the voice the people in the Parliament, ‘he added
