Lakhs of people followed Sharmila across her walkathon in the three districts of YSR, Anantapuram and Kurnool where Maro Praja Prasthanam has been completed and in Mahabubnagar district where it is presently under way.

Sharmila interacted with people of all walks of life at Rachchabanda programmes besides addressing public meetings at several villages and towns. Where ever she went, she received a galore of complaints on lack of proper power supply, non-implementation of Arogya Sri, absence of drinking water facilities, insufficient supply of essentials on ration cards and dilution of fee reimbursement scheme.

While seven out of ten people who she met complained of power supply for only three hours a day, the rest told her the supply of 16 kg of rice on ration cards in a month was not enough to feed their families. Most of the aged women she met complained of non-receipt of pensions and the absence of Arogya Sri facilities.

At most of the places, daily laborers told her there were no regular works for them and they were only paid Rs. 30 a day when they got works. Farmers and handloom workers also listed out their problems to her throughout the Padayatra.

For her part, Sharmila succeeded in reposing a sense of confidence among the people that their problems would be solved when YSRCP comes to power under the leadership of Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
