People charmed by Maro Praja Prasthanam
Hyderabad, Nov 23, 2012: Sharmila, who has been undertaking Maro Praja Prasthanam Padayatra on behalf of YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, has proved, beyond any doubt, to be a big crowd puller through the length and breadth of her walk so far in the three districts of YSR, Anantapuram and Kurnool.
Sharmila, who began her walkathon on Oct 18 at Idupulapaya in YSR district, walked for five and half days in YSR district, 15 days in Anantapuram district and fourteen and a half days in Kurnool district covering 82.5 km, 186.3 km and 196.8 km respectively.
Sharmila addressed several public meetings, scheduled and impromptu, during the course of her walkathon and met students, daily wage earners, famers, agricultural labourers, members of self help groups, physically challenged persons, tribal people, shepherds, pensioners and others in order to share their woes and instill confidence in them in their troubles times.
She effectively conveyed the intended message that she was doing the Padayatra on behalf of her brother Jagan Mohan Reddy to convey his assurance that YSRCP would take steps to usher in the Rajanna Rajyam once again once it assumes power under his leadership.
Wherever she went in the three districts, bigger crowds of people waited for her eagerly and people, especially women and children, competed to see her and shake hands with her and detail their issues to her.
Even as tens of hundreds of people strolled along her path of Maro Praja Prasthanam in solidarity with her, she felt at home with every group of people she interacted with in villages, roadsides and at Rachchabandas.
The way she had introduced to the people as Rajanna's daughter and Jagananna's sister at every important place sent the crowds into ecstasy and jubilation which reflected the quantum of their love and affection for the YSR family.
Sharmila’s Padayatra in the four districts of Telangana spanning over 15 days and covering 225 km will undoubtedly repeat the same scenes.
