Maro Praja Prasthanam Turns Three Today
Hyderabad: The daughter of former CM Dr.YS Rajasekhar Reddy and sister of the leader of opposition of AP and YSRCP president YS Jagan, YS Sharmila, held Maro Praja Prasthanam, which ended on this day three years ago.
She started this programme calling herself an arrow shot by YS Jagan. Drawing inspiration from her father who had toured in the whole state of AP, greeting the people, she began her tour. People from villages waited anxiously for her upon knowing the daughter of their favourite leader YSR was coming to meet them.
Maro Praja Prasthanam was begun on the 18th of October in 2012 at Idupulapaya. Caring the least for extreme weather conditions, she went ahead meeting and greeting people. Her tour took place in 116 constituencies of 14 districts. In 230 days, she covered 2,250 villages. She met at least 1 crore people who received her with great warmth and inquired about their well-being.
That tour is a milestone in the history of Telugu-speaking states. Huge number of people competed to see the daughter of ‘Rajanna’ and sister of ‘Jagananna’. She greeted followers and activists of YSRCP with great affection throughout her tour. Finally, she ended her tour in Icchapuram of Srikakulam district on the 4th of August in 2013.
