Mahabubnagar, Dec 5, 2012: Smt. Sharmila, who has been undertaking Maro Praja Prasthanam Padayatra on behalf of YSR Congress chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, has assured B. Ed candidates that she would ask party honourary president Smt. Y. S. Vijayamma to raise their issue in the assembly.

Smt. Sharmila gave this assurance to a group of B. Ed candidates who met her during the Padayatra and listed out their problems here on Tuesday.

“Though we secured ranks in the EDCET, the Government said B. Ed candidates are not eligible for Secondary Grade Teachers’ posts,” they told Smt. Sharmila, adding that they were not being considered even in promotions. Because of the Government’s decision, the future of seven lakh B. Ed candidates is at stake, they told her.

She assured them that she would also request the party to study their issue besides asking Smt. Vijayamma to raise the problem in the assembly. “We will not keep quiet if the future of seven lakh B. Ed candidates is at stake,” she remarked.

Observing she wasn’t confident enough that their problem would be solved by the present Government, Smt. Sharmila told them she was sure of their problem being solved once YSRCP assumed power under the leadership of Jagan Mohan Reddy.

There was a sea of humanity in Mahabubnagar town when she arrived in the town as part of her Maro Praja Prasthanam Padayatra.
