YSRCP condemns Anam remarks on YS Vijayamma: Aug 21, 2012

Hyderabad, August 21: Taking strong objection to the remarks passed by Congress Minister AnanmRamnaryana Reddy, YSRCP has said they were unwarranted and Congress fell into its own trap in the 26 contentious GOs issue.

“Anam’s remarks against our Party Honorary President YS Vijayamma are uncalled for and not in good taste. Congress is unable to wriggle out of its own folly of targeting YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in the 26 GOs case, unmindful of the long term consequences that are being faced by the cabinet ministers now,” Nellore MP, MekapatiRajmohan Reddy and Party Advisor DA Somayajulu told reporters here on Tuesday.

Trying to cover up its foolhardiness in not pronouncing the stand on the 26 GOs in State High Court and shifting the blame on others, more so on the parenting of YS Vijayamma, is ridiculous, they said adding that the tone and tenor in which he spoke belittles the decency and decorum of a civil society.

It was the same person who was one among the 150 MLAs who signed on the proposal supporting YS Jagan Mohan Reddy as Chief Minister following the death YS Rajasekhar Reddy under tragic circumstances. The turnaround speaks of his political opportunism, they said.

The case against our Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is in the special CBI court and no judgment was pronounced; yet the Minister started speaking as if all the charges were proved. This is not a good sign and the result of such arrogance has reflected in the recent Nellore Lok Sabha by-election, they said.

Instead of questioning YS Vijayamma and her BC welfare stand, in wake of two BC ministers being charged in the 26 GOs issue, the Congress should introspect as to why it did not reply to the High Court notices. It started pushing all the panic buttons after Supreme Court issued notices to the concerned ministers and bureaucrats responsible for the 26 GOs.

The strategy of Congress to fix YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in the case has backfired and pushed the State into a piquant situation. If it defends the GOs, the case against YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will weaken, otherwise the resignation of state minister DharmanaPrasada Rao will open new crisis in the State cabinet, they said.

Such remarks and actions of the Congress will accumulate and will have a telling effect in the people’s court and Congress has recently tasted such rejection. The comments that we have tied up with some party has no basis. It was Congress and TDP that have joined hands on more than one issue as was evident on many occasions, from filing the PIL on GOs to the recent by-polls in Godavari districts, they said.
