Zero hour probe unfair

Hyderabad, Jan 4: YSR Congress has said that the Speaker constituting a committee which implies to inquire into the proceedings of the zero hour on December 22 is unfair and it comes at a time when a no-confidence motion was pending against him. ‘The hint at the terms and reference that the committee would probe the issues mentioned by members during the zero hour on December 22 is very unfair on two counts.

First the main opposition YSR Congress was not present in the House at that time and zero hour is only a mention which needs to be completed in less than a minute. If the members are allowed to speak at length, tutored or otherwise, it reflects on the conduct of the house proceedings,’ party MLA G Srikanth Reddy told reporters here on Monday.

The zero hour mention is not the issue, and a committee set up to inquire into it is very unfair and the videos of assembly proceedings being leaked out and when the Speaker feigned ignorance it is more ridiculous.

Two versions of videos had come out. Only the reaction of YSR Congress members was shown and they were edited in such a manner to show the opposition members in poor light.

‘What our MLA RK Roja spoke was shown and what provoked her was not shown. The unruly behavior o the ruling party was not shown and this selective release of videos of the House proceedings is objectionable. The setting up of a committee on the zero hour proceedings only shows that the entire committee has a pre-planned agenda and wanted to function as per the script,’ he said.
