, Sept 19, 2013: YSRCP on Wednesday announced that its MLAs, MLCs and leaders would stage Dharna at the Gandhi statue in the Assembly premises on Sept 20 in support of the Samaikyandhra cause and demanding the TDP chief  Chandrababu Naidu to  withdraw his support letter to bifurcation apart from quitting his post.

Announcing this to reporters here, YSR Congress Legislature Party Deputy Leader Sobha Nagi Reddy said the Dharna would be preceded by Padayatra of the party leaders from Telugu Talli statue to the Gandhi Statue.

“We have decided to undertake the Padayatra and stage Dharna at the Gandhi Statue demanding Naidu to take back his support letter to bifurcation of the state and also quit his post. Apart from Naidu, his party MLAs also should resign their posts in support of Samaikyandhra cause,” she said.

She also asked the Seema Andhra Congress leaders to stop their political dramas and state their stand clearly on the issue.

People are puzzled at the street plays being enacted by both TDP and Congress leaders on bifurcation. “On one hand, Naidu has asked his T- leaders to send the message to the Telangana people that bifurcation has been the result of the TDP’s letter of support while on the other his party MLAs in Seema Andhra is enacting street plays opposing the bifurcation. Why enact this political drama?” she asked Naidu.

Referring to Naidu’s plans to take leaders of both regions to to solve the issue, she ridiculed the idea and asked: “What do you want to achieve by taking the leaders to ?”

Also objecting to Seemandhra Congress leaders’ ambiguous stance on the issue, Sobha told them to come out clear on their stand on bifurcation. “Are you for bifurcation or Samaikyandhra? Make your stand clear,” she told them.

Sobha Nagi Reddy observed that Naidu was allowed to move in Seeemandhra despite his blank cheque support to Telangana formation as the people there are very sober. “If you don’t take back your support letter to bifurcation, you will meet the same fate in the next elections as in 2004 and 2009,” she warned him.

She said TDP agreed to bifurcation even in its manifesto and Naidu also subsequently gave letter in support Telangana. “But you should realize your mistakes at least now and take back your letter of support. Instead of misusing your long experience to ensure denial of bail to our party Chief Sri Jagan Mohan Reddy, use one tenth of your conspiratorial skills properly and try to stop the division of the state recognizing the aspirations of the Seemandhra people who have been relentlessly agitating for the last 50 days.”
