Hyderabad, Aug 5, 2013: YSR Congress Party MP from Nellore Mekapati Rajamohana Reddy has resigned his Lok Sabha seat protesting against the unilateral decision of the Congress leadership to divide the state.

Announcing his resignation to reporters at the party headquarters here on Monday, he said he sent his resignation letter to Speaker Meira Kumar.

“I faxed the resignation letter in the Speaker format,” he said flashing the copy of his quit letter. He said he quit from his LS seat as per his announcement at Ichchapuram on Sunday.

“My resignation is in protest against the unilateral way the T issue has been handled and also against the political drama being played by Congress and TDP together on the issue,” he said.
