Hyderabad, Dec 14: YSR Congress has demanded a judicial inquiry into the Call Money racket and said that those involved should not be spared.

‘As there is an attempt to cover up the operation to save the perpetrators who happen to be TDP leaders and cadre, we demand that a judicial inquiry by a High Court judge be ordered into the scam and book the culprits,’ party spokespersons K Parthasarathi and Vasireddy Padma told reporters here on Monday after releasing the open letter written by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to the Chief Minister.

The letter has highlighted the involvement of Party MLAs, MLCs and Ministers having close links with the Call Money –cum- sex racket and efforts to water down the seriousness of the issue. The letter was written by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy with deep concern over the victims who were exploited by the Call Money operators, they said.

The dreadful act is being carried out with the support of the TDP leaders and there is every need to bring to book those who are involved in the scam and there are attempts to blame other parties to buy time and water down the issue.

A conducive atmosphere should be created for the victims to come forward and state the facts without any fear and the entire amount collected in the form of interest should be returned, they said quoting from the letter.

Even four days after the scam broke out, no action was initiated from the government side and the laxity only shows that the state is attempting to bury the issue. We demand for a judicial inquiry which only can bring out the facts, they said.
