YSR Congress Party who has taken a strong objection to the removal of YSR portrait from the assembly lounge has demanded that the Speaker and the TDP Government restore the portrait.

Party MLA G Srikanth Reddy speaking to the media on Tuesday said that the General Purpose Meeting conveyed for passing the decision of removing the portrait was held at the same time when the party was scheduled for the Dharna in New Delhi. Also, adding further Mr Reddy said that the Committee is not in proportion in the Assembly with the number of members from our party included.

Calling it an undemocratic and a provocative act, the party MLA said that TDP is being unfair in removing the YSR portrait as former Lok Sabha Speaker GMC Balayogi who also died while in office was honored in the library and even though NTR was never a Member of Parliament, his portrait is placed.

Hence, the Speaker should reverse the decision and give respect to the departed soul by restoring the portrait, concluded the MLA.
