Tanuku, Oct 28, 2013: YSR Congress party honourary president Smt. Y.S. Vijayamma on Monday assured the flood victims in West Godavari district that the party would bring pressure on the Centre to ensure that their loans are rescheduled.

Speaking to reporters here after visiting the flood-hit areas and inundated crops and meeting the farmers in several villages in and around Tanuku on the second day of her tour, she demanded the Government to announce waiver of loans and pay the usual compensation of Rs.10,000 per acre immediately besides providing the input subsidy for all those who lost their crops in the recent floods.

“Government should also build pucca houses under the Indiramma Scheme for all those who lost their houses in the rain fury and Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) should purchase the wet cotton produce” she said, adding that the compensation should also be extended for all tenant-farmers.

Smt. Vijayamma toured several flood-hit Anumanchipally, Share Mahammad Pet, Gowravaram, Chillakallu, Mundlapadu, Navabpet, Raghavapuam and other villages in Jaggaiah Pet and Nandigama constituencies of Krishna district on Sunday and met the aggrieved famers.

She said she would write to the Centre and the state Government seeking rescheduling of loans for famers in the flood-hit areas.
