New Delhi, Oct 8, 2013: YSR Congress Party honourary president Smt. Y.S. Vijayamma said on Tuesday national parties are favourably inclined to their party’s proposal that the Centre should go ahead with Telangana only after a resolution is passed by the state assembly.

Speaking to reporters after meeting leaders of DMK and CPM here, she said she had requested them to cooperate in the fight against bifurcation and keep the state united.

“Leaders of the two parties have agreed with our view that the Centre should go ahead with the bifurcation decision only after a resolution is passed by the AP assembly,” she said, adding the state cannot be divided without the approval of the concerned assembly.

Smt. Vijayamma-led YSRCP delegation called on CPM leaders Prakash Karat and Sitaram Echuri and DMK leader Kanimozhi and sought their support in keeping the state united.

Reiterating that YSRCP is committed to united AP from the very beginning, she said the group of ministers is like a Simon Commission and would be of no use. “What is the use of the committees? Earlier several committees including Rosaiah Committee and Pranab Committee were constituted. Recently, Antony Committee was also constituted but they did not serve any purpose at all,” she said, comparing the Ministers’ Committee to Simon Commission.

Smt. Vijayamma and other YSRCP leaders have also submitted memorandums to the CPM and DMK leaders requesting them to join the efforts to keep AP united. To read the full text of the letter submitted by them, please click the following link..
