Hyderabad: Telugu Desam Government is showing dictatorial behaviour in AP assembly by burying regulations. Budget was accepted by voice voting system. YSRCP had requested for voting on Appropriation Bill and presented the rules relevant to this. The Government unfairly won the bill by voice voting. It pushed aside democratic values and constitutional inspiration.

Whip issued by YSRCP

MLAs elected from YSRCP were issued whip one week before for mandatory attendance in the court and voting against the Government. This was issued in the name of party’s whip Amarnath Reddy and handed over to all the MLAs elected from YSRCP. Speaker Kodela Siva Prasada also was informed through a letter about the issue of whip.

Insistence for voting

YSRCP requested for division voting on appropriation bill and submitted a letter for the same. Another letter was submitted to the speaker informing that all the members of YSRCP had been issued whip. A list of all the MLAs elected from YSRCP had been attached to this letter. This letter was handed over to the general secretary of legislature Sujay Krishna Rangarao.

Disregard in spite of clear request

In his speech during budget voting, minister of legislative affairs Yanamala Ramakrishnudu stated that there would not be division voting on appropriation bill. Speaker Kodela Siva Prasad also expressed the same opinion. To this, YSRCP president and leader of opposition YS Jagan raised serious objection. He read out the regulations pertaining to this and specified that it was the right of the opposition to request for voting regarding acceptance of the bill. Still the speaker disregarded him or the protest of the opposition party members. The budget was accepted through voice voting. Immediately after that, the speaker adjourned the assembly indefinitely.
