TDP term was a nightmare: Vijayamma

Tallarevu (East Godavari dist), April 23, 2014: Likening the nine-year rule of N Chandrababu Naidu with a nightmare where farmers, students, households and all sections have suffered, YS Vijayamma has said the TDP President has always placed his personal interests ahead of the people’s interests unlike YSR who has rolled a string of welfare measures benefitting a multitude of people and appealed the electorate to vote in favour of YSRCP fan symbol to bring back the welfare state.

Addressing a public meeting here on Tuesday, YS Vijayamma said: “Naidu has never bothered about the poor and has never taken up an agitation for the cause of the people but he was always concerned about his personal interests, furthering his business activities and expanding his family-run Heritage Foods across the nation.

YSR on the other hand has introduced Aarogyasri to provide quality treatment to the poor and needy, encouraged students to go for higher studies with the fees reimbursement scheme, started Jalayaganam to provide water to uplands by drafting 83 projects, empowered women through pavala vaddi scheme, increased pension, waived loans, interest on loans, power charges dues and is still remembered for the good work done during his five year and three months’ term.

He looked beyond, regional, political and social affiliations and the welfare schemes touched every household be it SCs, STs, BCs, Minorities women or other sections.

He has done all this without increasing the power charges or RTC charges and did not impose any new taxes and stood as a model Chief Minister in the entire country. We need such a person to take over the reins of the State and YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has the will, vision and wisdom of such a welfare state.

“I appeal you to strengthen his hands by voting of YSRCP fan symbol to bring back the old days of YSR where all sections of the society have been happy.  

Chandrababu Naidu nine-year term is like a nightmare during which farmers were subjected to harsh treatment with high power tariff and ruthless collection methods and his policies have driven farmers, weavers and others to indebtedness and suicides.

He has never kept his word and all his poll promises proved to be empty. He has a strong opinion that subsidies will make the person lazy and has treated the students and anganwadi workers who were on strike pressing for their simple demands with contempt.

His governance is littered with scams from Yeleru to Telgi stamp papers to blatant violation of rules in allotting lands to IMG, Emaar, Raheja and others.

With such an inglorious past, he is again coming to you to seek votes with unfeasible promises. He has joined hands with Sonia Gandhi in the division of the state along with Kiran Kumar Reddy who played truant in stalling the division of the state.

It was only YSR Congress that stood for a united state.

Chieranjeevi is also coming to town and he has the dubious distinction of duping the 70 lakh voters for the sake of a cabinet berth at the centre. BJP, Congress and TDP are equally responsible for the division of the state, she said.

Now we have to build a new capital and develop the state with infrastructure and make it as the best in the country. This can be possible only with YS Jagan Mohan Reddy who has a vision and carries with him the legacy of YSR and we need to have the required numbers to get funds the Centre, she said and appealed to the people to vote for YSRCP fan symbol and give a decisive mandate.
