TDP instigating farmers

Hyderabad, Oct 13: Criticizing the TDP government for playing vindictive politics by instigating farmers on the Saraswathi Cements issue, YSR Congress has said the move is only to divert the attention of the people from its long list of failures. 

“TDP has been instigating farmers against YS Jagan Mohan Reddy only to cover up its failures and in an attempt to sling mud on the Leader of Opposition but the designs will boomerang,” party general secretary Janga Krishna Murthy told reporters here on Monday.

The people, who came to Lotus Pond to shout slogans, are not farmers and belong to a particular community and were instigated by TDP only to level false allegations and try to project YS Jagan Mohan Reddy as anti-farmer though the reality is otherwise.

“The land was procured from farmers and they were paid more than that of the market price and they were allowed to carry out agriculture operations till the factory comes up. As permission was not accorded the operations did not start and TDP government has been vindictive and has cancelled the lease.

There are factories like Ambuja Cements and others in the nearby areas where no activity was taken up for many years but still; TDP government opted to cancel the lease rights of Saraswathi Factory as it has the family members of YSR on Board.

The dharna at YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s house comes close on the heels of a group submitting a memorandum to the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on the land issue. This clearly shows that there was instigation and the people who came to Jagan Mohan Reddy’s residence were not farmers,” he said.

The area needs development and industrialization would provide jobs to locals and TDP should work to that end instead of stalling the proposed industries for political reasons, he said.

We condemn the storming of our leader’s house by the so-called farmers who were actually TDP workers and demand that the lease should restored to help industrialization and employment to locals, he said adding that the dharnas are only diversionary tactics.
